A Natural Language Mediation System for E-Commerce applications: an ontology-based approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes how ontologies are used to mediate between languages and to infer answers to user questions in the multilingual e-commerce mediation system mkbeem. As an example, the paper discusses how a complex user request in human language is transformed into an ontological formula and subsequently exploited to identify a service which matches best. The mkbeem-system prototype is in principle language independent and has been tested for the time being in Finnish, French, English and Spanish.

An Ontology-based Mediation Architecture for E-commerce Applications
As part of the MKBEEM project, we present an ontology based mediation framework for electronic commerce applications. The framework is based on a mediator/wrapper approach that supports an integrated view over multiple heterogeneous sources. The MKBEEM mediation system allows to fill the gap between customers queries (possibly expressed in a natural language) and diverse specific providers offe...
متن کاملIntegrating Fuzzy Logic in Ontologies
Ontologies have proved to be very useful in sharing concepts across applications in an unambiguous way. Nowadays, in ontology-based applications information is often vague and imprecise. This is a well-known problem especially for semantics-based applications, such as e-commerce, knowledge management, web portals, etc. In computer-aided reasoning, the predominant paradigm to manage vague knowle...
متن کاملSemantic Mediation with OWL
This short paper resumes main ideas of a semantic mediation approach based on OWL. The number of web-based information systems increases continuously since the arrival of internet. The semantic web provides meta-data that is crucial for allowing for intelligent applications to work on an extremely vast data resource like internet. A mediation system is one of solutions responding to the needs o...
متن کاملAn Executive Approach Based On the Production of Fuzzy Ontology Using the Semantic Web Rule Language Method (SWRL)
Today, the need to deal with ambiguous information in semantic web languages is increasing. Ontology is an important part of the W3C standards for the semantic web, used to define a conceptual standard vocabulary for the exchange of data between systems, the provision of reusable databases, and the facilitation of collaboration across multiple systems. However, classical ontology is not enough ...
متن کاملOntology-Based Natural Language Parser for E-Marketplaces
We propose an approach to Natural Language Processing exploiting knowledge domain in an e-commerce scenario. Based on such modeling an NLP parser is presented, aimed at translating demand/supply advertisements into structured Description Logic expressions, automatically mapping sentences with concept expressions related to a reference
